Tim Whitney

Tim Whitney, PT, DPT

Born and raised in central Texas, Tim Whitney proudly embraces the cultural diversity of his
home state. A self-described “melting pot of influences,” Tim brings a dynamic and personable
approach to his work as a physical therapist.

With a mission to use his talents for good, Tim finds immense joy in helping people recover
from injuries, overcome challenges, and improve their overall quality of life. His dedication to
promoting wellness is matched by his passion for fostering meaningful connections with his
patients.

Tim’s upbringing was steeped in music, with early lessons in piano and trombone that continued
through his college years. A lifelong soccer enthusiast, he enjoys the sport for its strategic and
fast-paced nature.

Outside of work, Tim enjoys exploring culinary delights, experimenting in the kitchen, taking
cold-water plunges, immersing himself in nature, traveling both near and far, and hitting the
dance floor whenever he gets the chance.

In 2021, Tim traded the warm climate of San Antonio, TX, for the coastal charm of Portland,
Maine, to pursue his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of New England.
Tim’s professional interests include neurological and vestibular rehabilitation, sports and
orthopedic therapy, pelvic floor therapy, and acute care—making him a versatile and wellrounded clinician.

His volunteer experience speaks to his commitment to community and inclusivity. Tim has
contributed to programs such as iCan Bike in Falmouth, Sled Hockey at UNE Biddeford, and
Special Surfers at Gooch’s Beach in Kennebunk. During his time at UNE, he also served as a
peer tutor at the Student Academic Success Center, helping fellow students navigate the
challenges of graduate school.

Tim’s diverse experiences and heartfelt dedication make him an asset to both his patients and his
community.
