Crystal Blakely

Crystal Blakely

Crystal Blakely, PTA, CYT

Crystal grew up in a small town in Vermont and nurtured a passion for movement, which led her to earn a BA in Dance Performance and Choreography from Dean College in Massachusetts. As a dance student, she faced several injuries, and physical therapy played a crucial role in her recovery, enabling her to continue pursuing what she loved. This experience sparked her appreciation for the field.

After college, she moved to New York City to dance professionally and became a certified yoga teacher. However, the COVID pandemic prompted her to leave the city. Embracing her love for nature, she embarked on a transformative twenty-three-day journey along Vermont’s Long Trail, a 273-mile trek through the mountains. This experience inspired her to shift her focus to physical therapy, blending her deep understanding of human movement with a desire to help others.

In 2024, Crystal graduated from Kennebec Valley Community College as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). Today, she integrates her unique background in dance and yoga into her patient care, enhancing recovery through mindful movement and personalized care.

Matthew Douglas, MS, PT
Clinic Director- Yarmouth

Matt received his Master’s in Physical Therapy from Springfield College in 1992. His journey in the field started when he was inspired to pursue physical therapy after spending considerable time rehabilitating his knees during his middle and high school years. With a strong interest in both sports and the human body, he has focused his career on orthopedics and sports medicine for the past three decades. In addition, Matt has found great fulfillment in developing a specialty program called “Fit4Me,” which aims to help adolescents with obesity and deconditioning issues. He has also been a long-standing instructor for Scorebuilders, helping physical therapy students prepare for their national licensing examinations.

When he is not working, Matt enjoys keeping up with his three young adult children. On weekends, he can often be found serving customers at the smoothie/coffee shop that he co-owns in Kennebunkport, ME, where he takes a hands-on approach to his business.
